Apple lists every price point a developer has configured, including promotional tiers, so a new user today is not necessarily offered all seven. On 6 September 2026 the web version of the listing showed only “In-App Purchases: Yes” with no itemised list, so the 4 August capture is the last itemised one we have; the purchase sheet inside the app is what governs. Two things are worth noticing anyway: the tier named "50%" is priced identically to the tier without it, and there are per-item unlocks sitting alongside a subscription.
Is Aya's weekly plan actually expensive?
At the listed rate, yes, and by a wide margin. $519.48 a year is more than most people pay for a phone plan and roughly ten times Foreglow's annual price of $49.99.
Aya's own yearly plan at $149.99 is a third of the weekly plan's annual cost. If you are going to use it, the weekly option is the expensive way to buy the same thing — which is what weekly pricing is generally for.
Why does a weekly price work on people?
Because $9.99 is a number you can approve without doing arithmetic, and 52 is a number nobody multiplies at a paywall. It is not a trick exactly — the price is disclosed — but the framing does the work.

What Aya does well
A 4.8 average across 3,147 US ratings on 6 September 2026 is a genuinely strong score, and it is not achieved by accident. Aya ships on both iPhone and Android; Foreglow is currently iPhone-only. If you are on Android and want this kind of app today, Aya is available and we are not.
Its per-item unlocks ($1.99 for a single audio, $4.99 for a playlist) are also a real option that most subscription apps refuse to offer: a way to pay once for one thing without any recurring charge at all. We do not offer that. Credit where it is due.
